Account Opening

Eligibility, documentation and what to expect

Opening an account with Invinitive is designed to be straightforward, transparent and fully digital. This section explains eligibility, residency considerations, the information we require, and typical onboarding timelines.

Invinitive operates on an execution-only basis and does not provide financial advice.

Eligibility & residency considerations

Account availability depends on both product type and country of residence.

UK residents

UK-resident individuals may be eligible to open:

Self-Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs)
Stocks & Shares ISAs
Investment Accounts (GIAs)

Eligibility is subject to HMRC rules (for ISAs and pensions) and standard onboarding requirements.

Non-UK residents & expats

Non-UK residents may be eligible to open:

SIPPs (typically for consolidating existing UK pensions)
Investment Accounts, subject to jurisdictional restrictions
Stocks & Shares ISAs (transfer only – no new contributions permitted)

If you move abroad, you may usually retain existing ISA holdings via transfer, but you will not normally be able to make new contributions.

Eligibility for non-UK residents depends on:

•Country of residence
•Local regulatory considerations
•Internal onboarding and risk assessment

Required documentation & verification

To comply with UK regulatory requirements, we must verify your identity and, where applicable, your address and tax residency.

Typically required

You will usually be asked to provide:

Proof of identity (e.g. passport or national ID card)
Proof of address (e.g. utility bill or bank statement)
Date and country of birth
Tax residency information

Additional documentation may be required depending on:

•Country of residence
•Account type
•Source of funds or transfers

All verification is completed through a secure digital process.

Verification & checks

As a UK-regulated firm, Invinitive is required to carry out a range of regulatory checks before and during the life of an account. These checks are designed to protect clients and the integrity of the financial system.

Standard checks include:

Identity verification (confirming who you are)
Anti-money laundering (AML) checks
Sanctions and regulatory screening

These checks are standard and apply to all clients.

Source of Funds (SoF)

In some cases, we may need to understand the source of funds being paid into your account.

This relates to where the money being invested is coming from, for example:

•Salary or employment income
•Savings or accumulated investments
•Pension transfers
•Proceeds from the sale of assets

We may ask for information or documentation to support this, particularly where larger amounts are involved or where funds are being transferred from overseas.

Source of Wealth (SoW)

We may also request information about your source of wealth, which looks more broadly at how your overall wealth has been accumulated over time.

This could include:

•Long-term employment or business ownership
•Inheritance or gifts
•Property ownership or investments
•Previous pension savings

Source of Wealth checks help us build an overall picture of your financial background, as required under UK AML regulations.

Why these checks are necessary

These requirements are part of UK anti-money laundering legislation and apply across the financial services industry.

•They are not a judgement on the client
•They are not unique to Invinitive
•They help protect clients and the wider financial system

The level of information requested will vary depending on factors such as account type, transaction size, country of residence and risk profile.

How information is handled

•Information is requested only where required
•Documents are submitted securely
•All data is handled in line with UK data protection requirements

If you have questions about verification, documentation or why certain information is required, our team is happy to explain the process.
