Junior Stocks & Shares ISA (JISA)

A tax-efficient way to invest for your child's future

Important: Adult account required

To open a Junior ISA with Invinitive, the parent or guardian must first have an active account with us. If you don't already have an account, please open an Investment Account, ISA, or SIPP before registering interest in a Junior ISA.

Overview

A Junior Stocks & Shares ISA is a long-term, tax-advantaged investment account for children under 18. Under current UK legislation, income and capital gains generated within the JISA are not subject to UK income tax or capital gains tax.

JISAs are subject to HMRC eligibility rules and annual subscription limits. The account is held in the child's name, with the parent or guardian managing it until the child reaches age 18, at which point control passes to them.

Invinitive's Junior ISA provides access to global markets through a modern, digital platform with transparent pricing and full online control.

We operate on an execution-only basis and do not provide financial advice.

Investment options

Through a Junior ISA, you can invest on behalf of your child in a broad range of standard, exchange-traded assets, including:

UK equities
Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) across regions and asset classes
Mutual funds / OEICs, where available on the platform

Please note: At this moment in time we do not offer CDIs for foreign equities.

Junior ISA annual subscription limit

The annual JISA subscription limit for 2026/2027 is £9,000. This can be split between a Stocks & Shares JISA and a Cash JISA, but only one of each type may be held per child per tax year.

Contributions can be made by parents, grandparents, or any other person. Only the registered contact (parent/guardian) can manage the account until the child turns 18.

Important — locked until age 18

Unlike an adult ISA, funds held in a Junior ISA cannot be withdrawn until the child reaches age 18, except in very limited circumstances (such as terminal illness). Please ensure you are comfortable with this restriction before investing.
